I have been time limited lately when it comes to updating this blog, as I have been doing a lot of writing work and it pays, so I have to prioritize paid work over managing my blogs. This season, I am going to be posting my favorite reviews and recaps of episodes from other reviewers in the blogsphere who are my favorite bloggers and writers. This episode review is again; written by Brouhaha from SpoilerTV.

Grey's Anatomy - Puzzle With A Missing Piece

Did anyone see the pilot episode for a new show last Thursday? It’s called Grey’s Anatomy and stars Kelly McCreary as a beautiful young surgeon...
There is always a risk when a new face lands in a mature series as a major character. Too many times it’s merely the last death throws of a show that is painfully lingering before the network cancels. On rare occasions the introduction causes a positive shift and the show goes happily on – perhaps Law & Order SVU is an example of that. Well, Grey’s is not in the death throws but it is a mature show and in order to secure a future the producers had to change the game. The question is...did you notice?


There was something very different about Puzzle With A Missing Piece. It’s easy to assume the status quo with the current set of characters. Many of the longest serving actors have renewed up to the end of season twelve and that’s quite a lot of story yet to tell. However, it became very clear on Thursday that the writers are starting to play the long game, it’s called the ‘planning the future of Grey’s’ game and in episode two of season eleven we were introduced to the key protagonist. Grey 2.0. Lexie was technically a Grey but she didn’t have the legacy. Perhaps, early on, the writers had some thoughts that she could be the next Grey but it was apparent in season seven that this would not work. Maggie is a Pierce (or a Webber?) but, as we will no doubt discover thoughout this season, Maggie is a Grey in all but name and she’s arrived with the Ellis (and Richard) legacy, cardio and all. 

Well, it’s a theory anyway. 

To present the viewer with a ‘special’ episode so early in the season is a huge risk and indicates how seriously the producers view this storyline. If the viewer is to believe in this character as a potential lead (it’s only a theory and it’s way into the future!) then the writers need ensure she’s legitimate and worthy. They need the audience to root for her even if they don’t quite like her, though it was hard not to. It worked. Episode two was a gem of a story. It was funny, it entertained, it informed, it was fresh and despite the viewer being by default on Meredith’s side this particular viewer came away very sympathetic to Maggie and wanting to see much more of her. 

Dear Shonda, THAT is how you introduce new characters to the show. Not by giving them their own early episodes necessarily but by giving them a strong story to land with and most importantly showing it to us. (A sigh of relief though that Adele isn't here to see this child of Richard).

Not all new characters need such a power introduction. Owen Hunt and Arizona Robbins were phased in through the story and though the latter’s back story stalled somewhat, their introduction worked well because of the immediate relationships they formed – both work and romantic. Contrast this to our sudden introduction to the Mercy West residents whom we had to endure for the season before two were killed off. It took a long time for Avery and April to take hold. Then in season nine a new set of interns arrived and frankly we are still trying to like the remaining two, a full two seasons later.

Putting aside the far-fetched fantasy coincidence of Maggie being a surgeon, just like her birth mother, and being a cardio one at that, which was Ellis' aspiration for Meredith, Maggie has arrived at Grey Sloan Memorial to get to know her sister and find out more of her past. It is a scary thing for adopted children, finding out their birth stories, walking into the unknown and the very best feature of this episode was the successful presentation of her fears for that as well as the more common fears that we all have when starting a new job...will people like us, will we make friends, will we understand the politics and relationships? It’s quite fitting that the same writer who penned the season ten finale and Cristina’s exit, William Harper, wrote 11.02. He’s overseen the departure of one powerful character and it seems was given the brief to bring in a new one...

We saw many sides to Maggie, kick ass cardio expert, vulnerable newbie, scared adoptee, and with a foot planted firmly in her mouth she introduced herself to the seniors in the show planting the seeds of future relationships. She was woven in, the most wonderfully funny scene which illustrated this perfectly was her introduction to Amelia. Amelia knows THE secret (isn’t that fabulous, it’s a lovely little plot twist!) so when Maggie says “Is everyone in this room somehow related?” and Amelia cracks up laughing after a wry look at Richard we get to feel the complex nature of this story we’ve now been buried in. Amelia has also been given a great introduction. Her unique ‘relationship’ with Richard allows her to get a birds eye view of the action. It presents Maggie with her potential friend in the hospital, one who will eventually have to deal with a huge conflict – confidential AA meeting versus being honest with her new friend. Nothing promotes bonding between women more than rolling eyes at over-sexed frat boys and talking sex lives. This is great story telling and inspired comic writing, a real tapestry of a story arc. 

Instead of patients telling the stories of the doctors, in 11.02 it is Maggie pointing the way. Callie and Arizona, who have a persistent shadow of doom hanging over their marriage, come to a decision on their future. Maggie inspires Arizona. Apparently the Robbins-Torres’ can have it all as both ladies had their own epiphanies. This was a small step forward in story telling but nevertheless it progressed these other characters’ stories. Alex gets fired as a direct result of her parroting Wilson’s blabber preparing us for the Bailey v Karev fight. 

On top of all of this Maggie presents herself as a problem solver and indeed she solves problems all over the episode. She even solved the biggest medical puzzle, the one that beat Yang, the cardio myopathy mystery, which finally gave Sabine some closure. There is one huge puzzle outstanding though; the one puzzle she is only now confronting, which she hasn’t even started to solve, the story of her birth and the following relationship with Meredith. By the end of Puzzle With A Missing Piece, Maggie comes across as an entirely likeable character. This is important because if a future Meredith/Maggie relationship is to be legitimate then the viewers have to see that it's actually possible and this must be through strong character development. We’ve felt the frost of Meredith’s cold demeanor but have been given no reason for her to be otherwise. Up until the closing minutes, to Meredith, Maggie was simply a new doctor who didn’t know the hospital rules, disagreed with patient care and apparently broke protocol. Meredith had no reason to like her at all. At the end she now has a reason to either hate her or to love her. 

This is huge for Meredith. How should she react...her mother had an affair which produced another child. She's discovered that Ellis was capable of ‘abandoning’ her child, no doubt soon she'll realise she was capable of abandoning the child conceived with love. Her mother already had a 5 year old daughter, she knew about motherhood and what it entailed, what does it say about Meredith that she was willing to give it up by giving away another daughter. This story is going to challenge Meredith’s moral center, motherhood, career, and marriage. It will also continue to fuel her insecurities, particularly as she realizes that Maggie became the heart surgeon her mother expected her to become. This story may be far fetched but it’s a massive powder keg and once again places Meredith front and centre in the show. 

In other news, while we learnt a lot about Maggie, we also learnt a couple of things about Wilson; that she is annoying and forgettable. Actually we knew that already and unfortunately this episode has not done that character any favours at all. Two character introductions - Maggie and Jo - they simply cannot be compared. 

This felt like a pilot of a new show, and perhaps it was; a pilot for the continuation of Grey’s past the possible departures of Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey; a game changer. Maybe by mid season the viewers will be introduced to Maggie’s on/off epic love interest, unless of course that’s already happened. Alex anyone? Amelia? Owen? 

Puzzle With A Missing Piece was a fresh, thoroughly watchable episode contrasting the light newness of Maggie with the familiar darkness of Meredith. But in the end perhaps it’s worth forecasting that these two will eventually become something together. Amelia said it best – “she’s worth knowing”

Are You Ready For Grey's Anatomy Season 10?

Meredith, Cristina, Derek and all of our favorite doctors will be back on our screens in Season 10 in a matter of days.


If you wish to remain spoiler free for the premiere, then stop reading now!

So fans; do you have a wish list for Season 10? And do you think we have seen the last of Lauren, the home wrecker, Richard (the real chief of Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital or is Heather Brooks going to leave the show in a body bag instead?

If the rumors getting around are correct, then Heather Brooks is sent on an errand, courtesy of Shane who is pissed at her for becoming Derek Shepherd's favorite intern, and apparently it is Heather who discover Richard, who has been electrocuted whilst turning the power back on in the hospital.

      

Shonda Rhimes recently posted a photo to her WhoSay account and then tweeted the word "crap" on Twitter, which was soon deleted, along with the picture of Richard at the 200th episode table read. The plot thickens, and it does make me wonder if Shonda is playing games with her fans. James Pickens Jnr was also photographed at the celebrations for the 200th episode, however even if the character of Richard does die, surely he would be invited to celebrate with the cast anyway. So I don't know what to think here.

In other news Shonda Rhimes has just welcomed another baby into her growing family, having recently adopted a daughter; news about the new arrival's name has not been released to my knowledge. So congratulations to Shonda on her new daughter, she must be one busy lady right now. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news sometime yesterday.

Another weird little tit bit of information was Patrick Dempsey referring to a photo of Ellen Pompeo, himself and their onscreen son. He tweeted that this was the photo from when he first showed Meredith their son, which is somewhat weird as he showed her the baby before taking him up to the pediatric ward and there was a scene at the end of the Season Finale of Derek, Meredith, Zola and Bailey all gathered together in Meredith's hospital room, enjoying a special family moment. Unless it is a flashback; I really hope that Shonda does go down the road of the entire Season Finale being a dream of some sort; that would suck and be too soapy for my taste. Apparently, according to Shonda Rhimes' Twitter, Derek and Meredith's new baby boy is named Derek Bailey Shepherd. Not sure I like the fact they named bub after his father. I would have preferred Chris or Christopher, but Christopher Bailey Shepherd would be a mouthful and my guess is that Christopher is Derek's fathers' name. I have no evidence to support that claim, it is just a guess.

All I can say is all of this is very intriguing and despite the fact that I have this blog which I totally love writing as it is about my favorite show, Grey's Anatomy, I try to steer clear of spoilers for Season Premieres and Season Finals. Now I know Shonda Rhimes hates anyone calling her shows a "Guilty Pleasure" but I am very sorry Shonda; my words are a compliment. This blog is what I work on when I want a break from my online freelance writing jobs, and I get to write about something I totally love. "Guilty Pleasure" is not an insult to Shonda's shows, in fact I have watched all of Shonda Rhimes' shows and I adore all of them, however Grey's Anatomy is the best work Ms Rhimes has ever done. It run rings around Private Practice and Scandal, even though they are and were great shows in their own special way. I miss Private Practice, and I miss Kate Walsh and Benjamin Bratt (hot, sexy, sensitive, and hot!). Benjamin Bratt portrayed Jake Riley and he was only on Private Practice for two seasons, yet he was my McDreamy in that show. 

So what I was saying before I got side-tracked with 'guilty pleasures' and Benjamin Bratt, is that it is hard to update a Grey's blog when you avoid spoilers as much as I do, however I only usually do this at certain times during the season. I mean let's face it, we all knew Mark was a goner before last season even went to air, when he announced he was leaving in July, everyone figured he would be killed off. It was the only story that made sense for Mark Sloan and I commend Shonda for the effort she and her creative team put in to give McSteamy the exit he so deserved.

So what do we all think is going to happen with Calzona? Are they headed for splitsville? Perhaps this will be the season of breakups as a fan said to me recently. I have no doubt that Owen and Cristina will go their separate ways. Shonda and her writers made a mess of that story line, it just went on too long and it really would have been better if Owen and Cristina has broken up and stayed that way, because I am not looking forward to another season of sad, depressed Owen Hunt. 

Arizona's cheating with the hot doctor from last season cannot just be glossed over, Callie is going to have to deal with the fact that she has been cheated on a second time. What I would like to see is the two of them in therapy and Arizona in therapy alone, so she can figure out why she cheated and convey this to Callie and hopefully they can work out their issues. Some of the fans are stumped on why she would cheat, but I thing it was the fact the Callie made a promise in episode two, that she would not take the leg and in the end she had to, to save Arizona's life. It is the broken promise that is the issue here and it does not go back to Africa, or Callie bonking Mark in Season 7, resulting in a pregnancy. I feel as though they were in a good place up until the plane crash.

I miss scenes like this one

I am from Australia and I watch it online once it has gone to air in the US, legally of course. I do not know how to live stream and this is something I am going to learn so I can Tweet and Facebook live while the show is being aired in the US. I really think that I am just going to have to get over myself and read all the spoilers and news so that I can share these with my fans who follow this blog. For a hobby, I am not doing to bad at all, I started this blog last year and I have had around 36,000 visitors so far, and fans are starting to follow through Facebook and Twitter, which is really awesome, so thank you to everyone who reads my blog every time I update it, I really appreciate the support. This is what I love about Grey's Anatomy, it brings people together who get one another, and for people who do not watch the show, well they just don't get it; which is fine, each to their own. 

Anyway today is Sunday in Australia, so I have five days to wait until Friday at around 3pm, which is usually when I manage to find the episode to watch online. I have been counting the days until it starts in the US and I will be even more thrilled if the Australian TV Networks fast-track the show, so I can watch it live every week and Tweet my Australian fans. Anyway that gripe is for another blog post. Take it easy and enjoy Grey's Anatomy on Thursday night. It cannot come quick enough for me.

Grey's Anatomy, Beautiful Doom - Season 9 - 5 Postmortem

Our favourite medics returned for Beautiful Doom a few weeks ago; with the much talked about Meredith and Cristina centric episode of Grey's Anatomy. I loved it and there were times that I hated it. Anyway I'll cover that as we go through the episode. My apologies for my tardiness in posting this review, I was moving house yet again; long story.

Totally loved the first scenes with Meredith trying to potty-train Zola; and later she is on the phone to Cristina and Zola pees all over her. That would so totally happen; lot's of toddlers do that; especially boys. Cristina walking out side her apartment building or hotel or where ever it is she is living, and her car is covered in snow. And then Dr Thomas saves her bacon and picks her up for work. I was really getting to love their friendship, until he dropped dead on the OR floor, and the thing was, I knew it was coming. Will this be what makes Cristina return to Seattle. Yes; I know she turned up at the end; but I don't know that she is staying, I was under the impression she showed because she needed her person and also needed to get drunk enough to have to courage to get on a plane, which is so totally what I would do, had I gone through what she did. However two more episodes have gone to air in the US and I have yet to watch these episodes due to my hasty move back to Canberra; but according to a fellow Grey's addict friend of mine and various recaps, it appears that Cristina is indeed back at Seattle.

While I'm happy to have her back in Seattle Grace scrubs; I am pissed at Shonda for killing off Dr Thomas. Why on earth did there have to be a tragedy to send Cristina scurrying back to her person in Seattle? Couldn't Dr Thomas simply retire? It was obvious that Cristina did not like it in Minnesota and felt as though she would never feel at home there. Dr Thomas did not have to keel over from a heart attack for Cristina to realise that he was the only good thing keeping her at the Mayo clinic. The cardio fellowship may have been the best program in the country, but the point that Cristina's career is not the only thing she cares about could have been made by having Dr Thomas retire to sunny Florida or something along those lines. It's all drama, drama, drama with Ms Shonda Rhimes, tragedy and pain. Don't get me wrong, I love Shonda and I love Grey's Anatomy and will be with it until the final episode, however I am getting tired of all the angsty drama. 

Apart from that criticism, I loved the episode and I still feel as though Season 9 is going to be great. I recently heard that Meredith and Derek are going to find out that Meredith is pregnant soon, so I am over the moon about this story. 




Not many of the other characters featured in this episode; Derek was seen telling Meredith he would take Zola to daycare and then get the train. I assume this is because he too, is freaked out about flying. Loved Owen and Zola, so cute. The interns trying to convince Meredith they are not babysitters or nannies. Totally loved Meredith's crush injury patient storyline; I was holding back the tears during this entire story as it too reminded me so much of Lexie and that fateful day. The scenes where we simultaneously saw Cristina and Meredith going about their business were not good. It may have been a fault with the live stream I was watching, but the sound during those shots was awful. It maybe a different story when I watch the episode on DVD when it comes out. Alex and April with Zola was pretty cute too.

All in all this was again another great instalment of Grey's, and it only makes me more excited for the next episodes to come. I must try to watch them over the weekend and get up to date with my reviews. However it's not an easy thing when you are basically forced to move three hours away with not much notice.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 8 Rant and Rave - Part 1

Season 8 of Grey's Anatomy in mine and many fan's opinions' totally kicked ass over Season 7. The general feeling from the first nine episodes was that the creators were well aware that they may lose some of their major players; the six original stars whose contracts were up at the end of Season 8. 


This is most likely why most of the focus was on the original characters: Meredith and Derek, Cristina and Owen, Alex, Richard and Bailey. In the first couple of episodes the focus was squarely on Meredith and Derek's marriage and story with Zola's adoption. Cristina's story arc was focussed more on her career, rather than her personal life, with Shonda saving Owen and Cristina's drama for the later part of the season. Callie, Arizona and Mark were mostly back stories throughout the first few episodes. Richard and Bailey also took a bit of a back seat, with Bailey being portrayed as very angry and upset until sorting out her differences with Meredith in Episode 8, Heart Shaped Box. This annoyed many Bailey fans, as they had to sit through many episodes of her being less than happy. However we all know Shonda Rhimes does not do happy.




Meredith and Richard 


Season 7 also started out well; however the time jump of a month after the shooting upset many fans. I was on the verge of forgiving Shonda as the first half of Season 7 was pretty good until the Callie, Arizona, Mark triangle.  So many fans hated this story arc mostly because it was such a cliché. This seems to be typical of Shonda Rhimes and her team of writers, however the focus on most of the original characters in the first half of Season 8 for me; all was forgiven. It just seems as though Shonda and her writers start out so well, and then don't bring the good stuff at the end. Her finales are always well written and entertaining, however the huge tragedy endings to the season are getting old. Season 7’s finale was actually a refreshing change and yet still a cliffhanger that kept all of us wondering for four, long months. As a fan, I loved it.

         

Never get tired of seeing these two


Baby Zola was the cutest and the scenes with Meredith and Derek were so adorable. The first two episodes where they lose Zola was heart breaking and I didn't expect it to happen so soon, I was expecting trouble with Meredith and Derek's marriage and the adoption process, but it was a shock it came so soon and that baby Zola was given to them about three months later according to Shonda's timeline. That seemed a little fast for an adoption, however I know nothing about the process so who knows?





Meredith is so pissed at being fired


Meredith's firing came as no surprise; it's what should have happened in the circumstance and very real; however Chief Webber stepping up to take the blame kind of threw me for a loop, I was not expecting that, I was actually expecting Alex to step in; in what capacity I do not know. Then when Dr Webber resigned as the Chief of Surgery, basically firing himself; Derek and Meredith's marriage seemed to be in all sorts of trouble and Derek's 'holier than though' attitude upset many fans. It almost seemed to me that Shonda was trying to create dislike for Derek amongst his fans, should Patrick Dempsey decide not to re-ink his contract, because at the time he was misquoted as saying he was not coming back in Season 9; however as it stands right now, all the original cast have signed new contracts for two seasons.





Bailey and Torres Supervise a Gunther


The Gunther was the best part of the Season Premiere, it was the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a long time; especially the part with Cristina and Alex when Cristina accidentally stabs with a syringe in the OR and he codes. Alex yelling "You Crazy Bitch!" "You almost killed me!" at Cristina was hilarious, best scene from episode two, by far. And when Alex helps Meredith after her and Derek lose Zola was beautiful. I was in tears when they walked out together. 


April never quite got the hang of Chief Resident by the mid-season hiatus she was still struggling. However by season's end I guess I got used to it. All the other residents still gave her trouble no matter what she did, however who could Owen have chosen realistically? Not his wife, not Meredith (after what she did with the trial), not Alex after he narked on Meredith, not Jackson who walked away from Dr Webber's trial. So April with her checklists and procedures was the logical choice. Even in the OR in Suddenly, Episode ten when Cristina bags her out to avoid talking to Teddy about Henry; she lets it go and takes orders from Cristina later when the surgery is done. A Chief Resident does not do that; Bailey would not do that.

Meredith and Derek finally make it back to each other and a happy place, no matter what happens with Zola. However; Cristina and Owen are avoiding the fact that she has just aborted their child and this story arc continued on through Season 8; with no resolution. Meredith's solution to saving her marriage is migrate over to OBGYN for a while, and not work with her husband who says he cannot trust her. She thinks that she is enjoying delivering babies and making life however, she is really marking time trying to figure out what kind of surgeon she wants to be.

                             

In Put Me In Coach  Meredith gets a dressing down from Bailey and Webber and she ends up on Bailey's Diabetes Trial, even though she was working on it in secret the whole time. Webber tells her to get out of those ridiculous pink scrubs and get back to the work you were born to do; being a surgeon. He forces Bailey to put Meredith on the trial, and in Hope for the Hopeless; the halfway mark of the season, she decides to be a General Surgeon like her mother and Chief Webber who is already her mentor anyway. Many fans were against this choice and were hoping to see her working with Derek, including myself; however I got to like the fact that Meredith was forging a career of her own instead of being in Derek's shadow, which is what would happen if she'd stayed working with her husband as he is the famous neurosurgeon on the show.


So when all is said and done; I felt that the first part of Season 8 was excellent. I felt that Shonda and her team were really giving their all, however as you will see in my next post: Part Two of my Grey's Anatomy Rant; my opinion is less than flattering. Part Two will be posted in a few days.

Shonda and her writer's really rocked it with the first half of Grey's Season 8, however the closing part of the Season did leave a lot to be desired. However I will discuss that in my next post. Thank you all for reading.

This Magic Moment - Grey's Anatomy Season 8-11 Postmortem

Baby Steps and Moving Forward



This was a really good episode, very cleverly written and put together. From Meredith's opening monologue to the end where Zola takes her very first steps. The parrallel drawn between the theatre, the classical music throughout the episode, the reference to Carnegie Hall; and the phrase "practice, practice, practice" was so fitting and brilliant. I could especially identify with Merediith saying that the OR used to be called a theatre as that is what the OR is called in Australia.


The big medical case of the night really was not original or engaging; in a dramatic or emotional sense. The only doctor who we really saw engage with the con-joined twins' parent's was Lexie and it was mostly to avoid Mark and his chit-chat in the OR about Julia. She found that she was envious of them because they were so much in love with each other. The con-joined twins' surgery had been done before with two adults in Season 3; I distinctly remember George O'Malley giving up the surgery to be with his Mom, while his Dad was in surgery.








Arizona Robbins was in charge of the case, however you wold have thought that Owen Hunt was the one who had cared for these babies for months. Arizona did not seem like the confident surgeon we know that she is, she was a bit of a monster ordering everyone about and second guessing everyone else's surgical decision. However given that she was in charge of the case, I saw that as her doing her job and I totally understood her concern with Jackson and Mark racing to finish their part of the surgery. Jackson had a mishap in the OR only two weeks earlier in which Callie took the heat; I felt it appropriate for Arizons to lecture Jackson and Owen as the Chief should have stepped in. I don't like him as Chief, but I think we're stuck with him.



Given the recent drama with Henry, Cristina was not scrubbing in on Teddy's cases. However, everytime Teddy was in the OR she had Cristina paged and asked her to relate Henry's surgery from start to finish. This had apparently gone on for two weeks. I was confused at first and thinking 'Please don't tell me Teddy going to blame Cristina'. However it became clear to me that this was what Teddy needed to understand how her husband died. Especially at one stage when Cristina said "I was one hundred percent sure." Teddy backs off. Cristina tries to apologise, but Teddy is having none of that; she tells Cristina that it was not her fault, and she did everything right, Henry just died. In the real world Teddy would have been on leave, I don't believe a hospital would allow someone to work who's husband has died at her workplace and Owen (as Chief) should have put a stop to this. But I get it and the scenes between Kim Raver and Sandra Oh were flawless as usual.

April's outburst in the OR in response to Teddy's questioning of Cristina, while inappropriate and none of her business, the scenes were well acted. This girl does the emotional really well. Sarah Drew, the actress is pregnant at the moment, so her scenes will likely be limited for the rest of the Season or until she has the baby.







Despite there being a General Surgery part to this special case; Bailey, Webber and Meredith were not invited to scrub in, there were strange residents scrubbing in to do the General Surgery part of the separation. Richard Webber was in the OR; yet was not asked to scrub in. I'm guessing it was his job to supervise the residents.





Bailey had Meredith with her in the OR because she was working with Ben, and she and Ben were disagreeing about whether they should move in together. Bailey wanted Meredith as a buffer, so that she did not have to discuss this personal issue at work, which I thought was a reasonable request. I did not think discussing it at work, especially in an environment where lives are a stake was appropriate and if Bailey did not want to discuss it in the OR, then Ben should have shut the heck up. However, we cannot expect it to be realisitic, it is a fictional drama after all. Meredith and Zola in the gallery during lunch was so cute, and I loved when Zola clapped along with the OR and gallery when Derek and Callie were able to get the twins legs all moving. So cute.

Did anyone else notice how tense things are with Cristina and Owen. I've been saying for months that this whole abortion thing is going to blow up in their faces and now Cristina is upset with him for lying to her about Henry and expecting her to lie to Teddy. So the drama between these two just builds and builds.

All in all this was a great episode. I loved Callie and Arizona at the end, Callie telling her she was a monster and the banter that followed. The McFamily is totally cute too, Zola gets up and walks, having seen herself on the TV and Derek can't get to the camera quick enough or turn it on. The only disappointment I feel is that there was still no explanation as to how and why they got Zola back, especially after being told that they weren't getting her back. I don't think there will be an explanation, which surprises me because Shonda Rhimes recently adopted a child and I figured she would have told the story of how difficult it is to go through this process.

Grey's Anatomy: Sandra Oh, Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey Filming At The Airport

It looks like Cristina Yang will be leaving Seattle for a little while, because Sandra Oh was at the Ontario airport in California today with co-stars Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey (and baby Zola) filming scenes for an upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy.

A possible explanation to Cristina's departure can be revealed in a recent spoiler which you can read here

Well it could be that Sandra Oh is leaving the show and this is part of the Season Finale; God I hope not. However, another explanation could be that she is off to interview for a job somewhere, given that the residents begin their fellowships soon, it could be that other hospitals have offered them poistions in lieu of passing their board exams. Rumor has it that not all the residents will pass. I cannot remember where I heard that, but did definitely read that somewhere recently.



Shonda Rhimes was recently interviewed by TVLine.com and part of that interview was posted on SandraOhNews.com on March 6, 2012. She informed us that all the originals whose contracts are up want to return in Season 9 and that the issue they are discussing is about money. It's good to know that they all want to return, I just hope that they can negotiate the financial side and have some answers before the Season Finale. I don't think very many fans will be happy if we go to the hiatus without knowing what's happening with the original cast members.
